Hi! I’m Krista, the face behind the Nardo’s Natural social media. I recently turned 40(!) so I’m taking over today’s blog to share some tips on keeping my skin in check and how you can replicate my favorite makeup look.
I’ve never been “afraid” of my age, but I never thought I’d be shouting it from the rooftops either—it’s called balance! Honestly, though, I’m in love with my skin’s glow and I attribute that first to great genes and second to my skincare routine that includes many Nardo’s Natural faves.
I’ve always been obsessed with makeup and skincare, but it wasn’t until 10 years ago that I got serious about being consistent with a routine.
Each morning and evening, I wash my face with the spa-like Charcoal Facial Cleanser. The creamy consistency includes a light exfoliation that gets my face squeaky clean without overdrying. In the morning I follow up with Toner, Glow Serum and Facial Moisturizer (Lavanilla is my favorite!). They give my complexion a polished look, without weighing me down. At night I use the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Fourever Youth Serum and Eye Serum—all the serums, am I right?
Most days, I go makeup-free (hello, working from home!) but on the days I do put makeup on, I keep it easy. I use a lightweight foundation or Nardo’s Natural Mineral Foundation Powder in Medium Beige, which gives incredible coverage. My problem area is dark under-eye circles, but a slightly orange concealer helps to neutralize the purple hue and makes me look way more refreshed!
I’ve been “winging” my eyeliner since high school and for me, liquid eyeliner is the best approach. I was so excited to hear that Nardo’s Natural just launched their new liquid eyeliner. I love a classic black but it also comes in Navy Blue and Brown so it may be time to experiment!
I finish off my look with a coat of mascara (also in black), a swipe or two of bronzer for a sunkissed glow and lipgloss. I always use Nardo’s Natural lip gloss in Peach Shine, the color is spot on, and the gloss is never sticky or tacky and smells delicious, too! If I’m looking for something bolder Ruby Red is perfect. And in between when I just need a little smoothness, I opt for the Lemon Burst or Peppermint Lip Balm.
Once or twice a week I take some “me time” and apply the Blueberry Charcoal Mud Mask and add a few drops of Argan Oil to my color-treated hair. The mask is cool and refreshing when you apply and as it dries I can imagine it just sucking up the impurities. The oil helps to keep my hair (and cuticles, and elbows…) soft and moisturized.
