Keeping Your Skin Moisturized All Winter Long

Keeping Your Skin Moisturized All Winter Long

Whether you spend time in the chilly Northeast or someplace slightly less frozen, dry or scaly winter skin can be a drag. The secret is simple—stay hydrated from head to toe! While this may seem more like a summertime request, winter skin gets thirsty, too. Whether you drink water, or relax with a cup of herbal tea, don’t skimp on liquids that will keep you hydrated. And while it’s tempting to crank the heat, it may cause the air (and your skin) to become extra-dry which may lead to cracking and itchiness. Investing in a humidifier is one way to add moisture into the air or you can DIY it with a metal bowl filled with water placed on a windowsill or atop your radiator. One of our favorite tips starts right out of the shower. Apply a nourishing oil, like our Argan Oil infused with Lavender, to your skin while it’s still a little damp. Concentrate on your elbows, knees, cheeks—wherever you need it most, but avoid the bottom of your feet so you don’t slip. A good face moisturizer applied day and night will keep your skin soft and protected, while a touch of coconut oil can also step-in as a great moisturizer but remember a little goes a long way! For on-the-go care, try our body balm moisturizing stick. The convenient packaging and generous size means you’re never far from soft skin. It sounds (and is) easy to stay hydrated, but the key to moisturized skin is consistency. Create a routine and stick with it–your skin will thank you.
