Activities!

Whether you thrive in a spin class or you’re most comfortable bench pressing a new P.R., there are some days when you feel like you’re in a rut. We totally get it! There are so many ways to be active—some you may not have even thought of already. Here are a few of our favorite non-traditional workouts.

  • Dancing: Get to boogying by turning up your favorite tunes and turn your living room or patio into your personal dance floor. Shoes are definitely optional.
  • Walking: Much like dancing, walking is beneficial. You don’t need to turn into a power walker—just keep moving! Getting outside, enjoying fresh air is just part of the positive experience. Walking has a bunch of benefits; it’s less stressful on your joints than running, it’s a mood booster, and can increase your circulation, and posture. As always, check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise regime!
  • Gardening: It may seem like a mundane task but tending to a garden can be a workout. If you’ve ever tried to dig out a stubborn weed you know what we mean! The time you put into a garden, from watering to moving the lawn or weeding can help you burn some calories and you’ll definitely feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of it.
  • Laughing: We’re not joking! The endless laughs from a chat with friends or watching a comedy special can give your core a workout. And the benefits of laughing go even further- they’re a definite mood booster!
